RESPAWN & RAGE

RESPAWN & RAGE / YOUR PRIVACY

Privacy policy.

LAST UPDATED

Your match runs on a player’s machine.
We do not run a central gameplay tracking service.

This policy explains privacy for the current Respawn & Rage game and this website, maintained by the Respawn & Rage project maintainer (“we”, “us”). It covers what stays on your device, what other players need to receive and what happens when you visit the site or download the game.

01 / Playing the game

Matches are hosted on players’ own computers. We do not operate developer-hosted gameplay servers, require a separate Respawn & Rage account, or collect gameplay telemetry in a central player database. The game does not include advertising or analytics tracking added by us.

Multiplayer still requires a network connection. Your chosen player name, team, appearance and match state are exchanged with the host and relevant players. The host receives network information, including your IP address, needed to connect you to the match. Local server discovery also exchanges connection information on your local network.

Hosts control their own machines and any logs they keep. We do not receive those session records automatically or control independent hosts’ retention practices. Join hosts you trust and avoid using personal information as your player name.

02 / Data on your computer

The game saves preferences such as your player name, appearance, equipment and settings locally. The game or engine may also create local diagnostic logs and crash files, which can contain player names, connection details or technical information.

We do not automatically collect these local files. They remain on the relevant player’s or host’s computer until removed under that device’s settings or by its owner. You can remove local settings and logs yourself; uninstalling the game may leave some files behind. If you voluntarily send a bug report or log, review it first and remove information you do not want to share.

03 / Visiting this website

This is a static website. It has no registration forms, analytics scripts, advertising trackers or embedded third-party widgets. We do not set cookies or use browser storage to track you. Fonts and images are served with the site.

The site is delivered by Amazon Web Services (S3 and CloudFront). Delivering a page necessarily involves processing technical request information, such as your IP address, requested URL and browser request headers. We have not enabled website access logging on S3 or CloudFront, including CloudFront real-time access logs. We do not keep our own visitor-level browsing history.

AWS may process operational and security information as part of providing its infrastructure. This does not mean that no technical data is ever processed. See AWS’s data privacy information for details about its services.

04 / Downloads and external links

Downloads and playtest access are handled by itch.io. Following an itch.io or GitHub link takes you to a separate service with its own privacy practices, cookies and account features. We do not receive your itch.io account password or payment details.

Information you choose to share through comments, support messages or bug reports, and information the distribution platform makes available to project owners, are subject to that platform’s features and policies. Read the itch.io Privacy Policy and, if you use GitHub, the GitHub Privacy Statement.

05 / Purpose, sharing and retention

Where personal information is processed under our responsibility, we use it only as needed to deliver and secure the website, respond to requests, investigate reports you send us or meet legal obligations. Where the GDPR applies, our basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the project and answering correspondence, or a legal obligation where applicable.

We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising or make automated decisions about you. We share information only with service providers needed for those purposes, when required by law, or as you request. We retain voluntary correspondence only as long as needed to resolve the request and meet any applicable legal requirements; we do not create a central archive of player-hosted matches.

Website delivery and external platforms may involve processing outside your country, including in the United States. Where we are responsible for a transfer covered by data protection law, applicable safeguards are required. Independent hosts and platforms manage the information they retain under their own responsibilities.

06 / Your choices and rights

You can play offline, choose what name you use online, select the hosts you join and remove local settings or logs. Do not share sensitive personal information in player names, public comments or diagnostic reports.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, or request portability. These rights apply to information actually held under our responsibility; we cannot retrieve or erase files kept only on someone else’s computer. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, including the Italian Data Protection Authority.

We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information for accounts, marketing or tracking. If you believe a child has sent personal information to the project, contact us so we can address it.

07 / Contact and updates

For questions about this policy or information you have shared with the project, contact the Respawn & Rage project maintainer through the project’s itch.io page. Do not post private information in public comments. Requests concerning an independent game host or an external platform should be directed to that host or platform.

We will update this page if the game, website or data practices change. The date above identifies the current version.
